Awarding Ideas for the 'Korean New Deal' Submitted by the Public... Final 8 Winners Selected

[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Ministry of Economy and Finance awarded prizes to outstanding ideas for Korean New Deal budget projects directly submitted by the public.
On the 30th, the Ministry announced that it held the final judging and awards ceremony for the 'Korean New Deal Participatory Budget Contest' at Dongja Art Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Among 179 Korean New Deal-related budget project ideas submitted by the public, 15 projects that passed the judges' document review and ministry eligibility screening were selected for the final judging, and 8 projects were chosen as award recipients. Deputy Minister Eokwon Lee presented prize money of 3 million KRW to one grand prize winner, 1.5 million KRW each to two excellence award winners, and 700,000 KRW each to five encouragement award winners.

The grand prize went to Mr. Taekyun Kim for his proposal of the 'Introduction of an Electronic Legal Aid Application System.' The excellence awards were given to two projects: 'Proposal for Building Source Data for Sustainable Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Data' by Mr. Mangum Jo, and 'Establishment of a Broadcasting Content Distribution Service Platform Linked with Archiving' by Mr. Hyungno Kim, Mr. Euiyoung Kim, and Ms. Jiyeon Lee. The encouragement awards were given to five projects: 'Policy Fund Support Service Tailored to Me' by Mr. Han Lee, 'AI Smart Building Door Management' by Mr. Jaemin Jung, 'QR Code Recycling Guide Service' by Mr. Woosik Gong, 'Korean Food Promotion Tourism Project, Korean Food Library' by Mr. Youngho Lee, and 'Establishment of a User-Centered Public Platform for Electric Vehicles (EV)' by Mr. Donghyun Park.
