[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Museum of Mokpo National University (President Park Min-seo), directed by Han Jeong-hoon, announced on the 30th that it will recruit students for the 25th Museum University course for the 2021 academic year from the 3rd to the 10th of next month.
The Museum University is a humanities lecture designed to provide local residents with various opportunities to enjoy culture, and it is operated as a detailed program of the National University Development Project aimed at strengthening the public nature and social responsibility of national universities.
The lecture schedule is from 2 PM to 4 PM every Thursday from the 20th of next month to July 29th, and will be held in the museum's main auditorium. The lecture theme has been planned as "Southeast Asia, Exploring New Values," continuing from the previous semester.
Southeast Asia, excluding East Timor, consists of all countries forming the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), established in 1967, and has maintained close and comprehensive relations with our country since 1989. Recently, it has developed as a major partner of the New Southern Policy, with active exchanges in various fields.
This semester, to help understand the diverse cultures of major Southeast Asian countries, which have been attracting global attention after COVID-19 as "lands of opportunity," interesting topics and recent issues related to the Myanmar coup will be examined.
Director Han Jeong-hoon said, "This will be a meaningful time of comfort for local residents who have been unable to enjoy cultural life due to the impact of COVID-19, and I hope it will be an opportunity to newly recognize the increasingly attractive culture of Southeast Asia."
