Applications can be submitted via email or mail by June 14. Detailed information can be found on the city’s website (City News Notices and Announcements).
Gwangju plans to select winners through a first-round document review by a judging panel composed of disaster safety experts, followed by a public audition-style final review in August with general audiences and experts.
Awards include the Gwangju Mayor’s Commendation and prize money totaling 20 million KRW distributed among 11 winners: ▲Grand Prize 1 person (4 million KRW) ▲Excellence Award 2 persons (3 million KRW each) ▲Merit Award 2 persons (2 million KRW each) ▲Encouragement Award 6 persons (1 million KRW each).
Additionally, the winning entries will be exhibited at the ‘2021 Korea Safety Industry Expo’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, held at KINTEX from September 14 for three days, with opportunities for product demonstrations, national project planning, and various other benefits and commercialization support.
Moon Beom-su, Director of the City’s Citizen Safety Office, said, “Safety industries based on core 4th Industrial Revolution technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and digital twins have become increasingly important.
