NewG Lab Pharma "Hanwool TL Launches New Cold Chain Product for Vaccine Transport"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hanwool TL, a subsidiary of Newgelab Pharma specializing in cold chain solutions, announced on the 29th that it will launch a new product called 'Elephant Bio' in May, suitable for transporting vaccines and other bio materials.
Elephant Bio can maintain temperatures between -20°C and -80°C for over 120 hours. It integrates a data logger that periodically checks and transmits temperature and location during transportation, making it ideal for vaccine transport.
Hanwool TL has been conducting validation with the largest domestic distribution company to use Elephant Bio as a vaccine transport container. (Validation is the process of ensuring that a specific process consistently produces products meeting quality criteria.)
In addition to the newly launched 'Elephant Bio,' Hanwool TL sells various cold chain-related products. Representative products include the lightweight 'Elephant Light' and the pallet shipper-type 'Elephant Cryo' packaging used for exporting COVID-19 diagnostic kits overseas.
All of Hanwool TL’s packaging products can be customized according to user requests. This allows the company to provide more optimized solutions by overcoming the shortcomings of off-the-shelf products.
Elephant Bio and Elephant Light are currently supplied to domestic pharmaceutical companies and drug distribution firms handling vaccines. They are also used for COVID-19 vaccine transport packaging and specimen transport beyond COVID-19 in various military units (Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) and the United States Forces Korea.
In particular, Hanwool TL is responsible not only for cold chain packaging but also for transportation services for the United States Forces Korea. When transporting blood, specimens, and pharmaceuticals domestically, the USFK uses Hanwool TL’s Elephant Bio 5L and 15L packaging along with the B-Carry same-day transportation service.
Furthermore, Hanwool TL’s products are used for transporting vaccines, drugs, and COVID-19 test kits. Elephant Cryo packaging containers were used for frozen transport of COVID-19 test kits exported to the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. This product is a disposable frozen packaging material that maintains temperatures below -20°C for over 120 hours, meeting both temperature stability and cost-effectiveness. It is also planned to be used for transporting diagnostic kits exported to South America.
