[Concall] Samsung Electronics "Set and Display Production Partially Disrupted Due to Semiconductor Supply Shortage"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] On the 29th, during the Q1 earnings conference call, Samsung Electronics stated, "Currently, due to the global semiconductor supply shortage, there are some disruptions in the production of sets (finished products) and display products," and explained, "To mitigate the impact, we are closely cooperating with major suppliers for set products such as smartphones, TVs, and home appliances to secure necessary component inventory." They also added, "Since the shortage of Display Driver ICs (DDI) has continued since the second half of last year, we pre-secured the required inventory to minimize the impact in Q1," and "Currently, we are working closely with suppliers to secure component inventory while regularly checking supply and demand situations with customers to coordinate supply."
