"Overseas Expansion through Smart Manufacturing Innovation"… Ministry of SMEs and Startups Collaborates with German Government
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The South Korean and German governments are embarking on full-scale cooperation to enable domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter the global market through smart manufacturing innovation.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has agreed with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to establish a cooperation channel in the field of smart manufacturing innovation and will form a Korea-Germany working group, holding its first meeting online on the 29th.
The Korea-Germany working group is composed of experts in relevant fields to create tangible outcomes that benefit SMEs through actual project implementation in areas such as smart manufacturing standards and security technologies.
The working group will initially operate three subcommittees focused on urgent cooperation issues: international standard development, Gaia-X, and cybersecurity, and plans to expand cooperation later to areas such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and professional workforce training.
