[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] An exclusive IKEA card has been launched. The IKEA exclusive private label credit card (PLCC) is Shinhan Card's second global brand PLCC following the Marriott PLCC.
Shinhan Card announced on the 29th that it has released the 'IKEA Family Shinhan Card,' the first PLCC in Korea equipped with the global company IKEA's membership.
For the first time in Korea, the global company IKEA has partnered with a card company to offer specialized benefits. With increased interest in home interior and furniture home furnishing since COVID-19, it is expected to receive great customer response.
The IKEA Shinhan Card offers a 10% discount when spending over 50,000 KRW at IKEA's domestic online and offline stores. Additionally, at all food stores (restaurants, cafes, bistros, etc.) within IKEA offline stores, a 15% discount is available for purchases over 10,000 KRW.
The IKEA special discount is provided up to a maximum of 30,000 KRW per month when spending over 300,000 KRW in the previous month.
The IKEA Shinhan Card automatically includes the membership program 'IKEA Family,' allowing users to enjoy special membership discounts provided by IKEA Korea, birthday celebration coupons, free coffee on weekdays, free exchange/refund within 14 days, and home furnishing consulting services.
It also offers a 5% discount service at major department stores (Hyundai, Shinsegae, Lotte), large discount stores (E-Mart, Homeplus, Lotte Mart), premium outlets (Hyundai, Lotte, Shinsegae Simon), convenience stores (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven), and coffee shops (Starbucks, Ediya). (Up to 20,000 KRW per month depending on previous month’s spending)
Shinhan Card also launched the 'IKEA Business Shinhan Card' for IKEA business customers. It provides a 10% discount when spending over 100,000 KRW at domestic online and offline IKEA stores, and a 5% discount on business expenses such as discount stores (E-Mart, Homeplus, Lotte Mart), insurance premiums, electricity bills, and security service fees. Additionally, there is a 0.3% discount on all merchants except IKEA and business expenses.
The IKEA special discount is provided up to a maximum of 50,000 KRW per month when spending over 500,000 KRW in the previous month, and non-IKEA discounts are provided up to 40,000 KRW per month depending on previous month’s spending.
The annual fee for the IKEA Shinhan Card is 18,000 KRW for Visa and 15,000 KRW for domestic use only, while the IKEA Business Shinhan Card is 30,000 KRW for Visa and 27,000 KRW for domestic use only.
