Gwangju City Hosts Startup Competition Utilizing Public Data
Participant Registration Open Until June 11... Idea Planning and Service Development Fields
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 28th that it will hold the ‘2021 Gwangju Public Data Utilization Startup Competition’ to discover creative ideas and new business models using public data and to promote startups based on public data.
Hosted by Gwangju City and organized by the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation Foundation, the competition has two categories: idea planning and product and service development. Anyone with creative ideas using public data can participate.
Applicants can apply through the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation website by June 11. After document screening and presentation evaluation, six outstanding works will be selected in July to receive the Gwangju Mayor’s Award and a total prize of 18 million KRW.
In particular, this year, various follow-up supports will be strengthened through the startup support program of the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.
The best work in each category will represent Gwangju City at the ‘9th Pan-Government Public Data Utilization Startup Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and will receive startup benefits such as equipment use support for prototype production at the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, open space support at the Gwangju AI Startup Camp startup space, and expert consulting for ideas and technical support.
