159 Teams and Over 900 Participants Join SBO President's Cup Cheer and Dance Competition
On April 26, at Janghang Baseball Stadium in Goyang City, the Kids Cheerleading Rainbow Team performed a congratulatory show at the opening of the 15th Goyang-Hanstar SBO (Celebrity Baseball) League by Blue Industries.
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] The Korea Celebrity Baseball Association (SBO President Jeong Cheonsik) announced on the 28th that 159 teams and about 900 participants applied for the "1st SBO President's Cup World Cheer Dance Competition," a non-face-to-face video cheering event to overcome COVID-19.
In the cheerleading category, 109 teams participated. Judging criteria include creative composition, performance, cheers wishing for overcoming COVID-19, and views on Hanstar TV's YouTube channel. In the dance category, 32 teams from Korea and 18 teams from China submitted competition videos, showcasing a dance skill competition between Korea and China. Jeong Cheonsik, SBO President, said, "Watching the participants' creative performance skills, I am convinced that Korea's cheer and dance will gain global attention as a new K-Sporteainment alongside K-pop."
This competition will select and announce one team each for Grand Prize, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, and Bronze Prize in both cheerleading and dance categories, as well as two Popularity Awards and three Encouragement Awards, including the National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairman (Assemblyman Do Jonghwan) and SBO President's Awards. Judging began on the 26th, and the awards ceremony will be held on May 2nd, broadcast live on YouTube's "Hanstar TV."
