Hampyeong-gun Promotes 'Traditional Toilet Zero in Hampyeong' Project
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Hampyeong-gun announced on the 28th that it will promote the ‘Traditional Toilet Zero in Hampyeong’ project to guarantee children’s housing rights in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation (Jeonnam Regional Headquarters Director Park Subong).
The ‘Traditional Toilet Zero in Hampyeong’ project is part of the ‘Building Houses of Love in Hampyeong’ project carried out last year after a business agreement between the two organizations. It is a project to improve the housing environment of low-income families with children in the area with support from various sectors of society.
Earlier, the county conducted a full survey of about 3,800 households with children under 18 years old in the area from February to select project beneficiaries.
As a result of the survey, 14 households with poor toilet conditions were identified, and after a joint on-site inspection with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, 10 households urgently needing toilet renovation were selected.
The total project cost is 61 million won, and construction is scheduled to begin next month.
In particular, the project cost exceeding the already secured 55 million won (40 million won housing expenses from the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, 15 million won from Happy Bean fundraising) was raised through individual donations from local sponsors.
Namyeol Park, CEO of Sinseong Agricultural Cooperative Corporation in Wolya-myeon, donated 1 million won; Gyecheon Jeong, CEO of Sehwa Farm in Wolya-myeon, donated 3 million won; and Hyunhee Lee, CEO of Paul Farm in Wolya-myeon, donated 2 million won.
