Yeongdeungpo-gu Supports Installation Costs of Solar Mini Power Plants from 50,000 to 520,000 Won
Veranda Type 50,000 KRW Self-Payment, Housing Type 520,000 KRW Self-Payment... Recruiting 1,000 Veranda Type Units Until End of November via Solar Power Call Center and Seoul Haetbitmaru Website... Recruiting 10 Housing Type Units Until Budget Exhaustion via Korea Energy Agency Green Home Website
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil) is recruiting 1,010 households to participate in the ‘Solar Mini Power Plant Installation Cost Support’ program to take the lead in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 through the production of eco-friendly energy sources.
A solar mini power plant refers to a power generation facility that installs small solar modules under 1kW on balconies, railings, or rooftops of houses or buildings, converting solar energy emitted in the form of electromagnetic waves from the sun into electricity.
The types of mini power plants supported by the district include the veranda type (50W to under 1kW), installed on veranda railings or rooftops, and the residential type (1 to 3kW or less), installed on house rooftops or roofs, allowing households to choose the type that suits their situation.
When installing a 325W veranda-type solar panel, it is estimated to produce an average of 31kW of electricity per month, resulting in an estimated monthly electricity bill reduction of 7,000 to 10,000 KRW.
The residential-type solar power plant (based on 3kW) is expected to produce an average of 288kW of electricity per month, with an estimated monthly savings of about 63,000 KRW.
The veranda-type power plants include the ‘mounted type’ installed on balcony railings and the ‘anchor type’ installed on building rooftops, and both homeowners and tenants can apply.
For the residential type, installation is on building rooftops or roofs, and applications are available for homeowners or those who are expected to own newly constructed houses.
Installation costs are supported by national and city subsidies plus additional district subsidies, with the district providing 50,000 KRW per household for veranda-type solar panels and 1,000,000 KRW per household for residential-type solar panels.
Additionally, applicants must pay a personal contribution of 50,000 KRW for veranda-type solar panels and 520,000 KRW for residential-type solar panels.
The veranda-type solar power plant program is recruiting a total of 1,000 households, and those wishing to install can apply by calling the Solar Call Center or through the Seoul Energy Corporation website ‘Seoul Haetbit Maru’ by the end of November this year.
The residential-type power plant program is recruiting a total of 10 households, and applications can be submitted through the Korea Energy Agency Green Home website from May 31 until the budget is exhausted.
For questions regarding installation and products, information can be found through the notice and announcement sections on the Seoul City or Yeongdeungpo-gu websites or on the Seoul Haetbit Maru website.
