Ministry of Science and ICT Hosts '2021 Smart Media X Camp'
April 28-29, Bitmaru Broadcasting Support Center to Host 'Non-Face-to-Face, No Audience' Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Radio Promotion Association announced that they will hold the '2021 Smart Media X Camp (X Camp)' for two days starting from the 28th at the Bitmaru Broadcasting Support Center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.
Now in its 8th year, X Camp is a win-win and cooperative platform that supports excellent small and venture developers with creative ideas in the smart media field by providing service development funds and connecting them with commercializable platform companies. It also offers platform companies the opportunity to discover fresh content and services and assess their potential. This event will be held in a non-face-to-face and audience-free manner, and the idea presentation videos of small and venture developers will be broadcast live on online platforms such as Naver TV and YouTube.
This year, under the theme 'Smart Media Embracing D.N.A. (Data, Network, Artificial Intelligence), the Beginning of the 4th Industrial Revolution,' 18 small and venture developers selected through a prior public contest and screening process will present their service ideas. If a commercialization consortium is formed through collaboration between small and venture developers and platform companies based on the presentations, a total of 1.15 billion KRW in new service development funds will be provided after an agreement. Additionally, an expert conference under the theme 'Smart Media Embracing D.N.A. is Coming,' online lectures on commercialization know-how by X Camp alumni companies, and an online business meeting week will also be held.
Cho Kyung-sik, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said in his congratulatory remarks, “Discovering new and creative services amid competition in the borderless media market is a very important task not only for developers but also for platform companies,” adding, “We will spare no support for small and venture media content companies that will lead the ‘media big bang’ based on the D.N.A. ecosystem for fostering and innovating the smart media new industry.”
