Gwangju 5 Districts and Jeongongno Agree to Fully Implement Lunch Break Closure System in July
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan City District Mayors' Council (hereinafter referred to as the District Mayors' Council) and the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the National Public Officials Labor Union announced on the 27th that they have reached a decisive agreement to fully implement the 'lunch break closure system' at the civil service offices of the five autonomous districts and the Dong Administrative Welfare Centers starting July 1.
This agreement was dramatically reached through multiple dialogues and consultations between the five districts and the union since discussions on the lunch break closure system began in June last year.
According to the agreement, to alleviate inconvenience to residents and help them adapt, the months of May and June will be designated as a promotion and guidance period, during which active promotion of the lunch break closure system, including maintaining minimum staffing, will be conducted.
Additionally, ahead of the full implementation of the lunch break closure system, the District Mayors' Council plans to complete by next month the establishment of a system for uninterrupted civil service, along with telephone guidance and resident publicity.
