Japanese Government Claims 'Dokdo is Japanese Territory' Through Official Diplomatic White Paper (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The Japanese government, through the diplomatic white paper released for the first time since the inauguration of Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's cabinet last September, reiterated its territorial claim insisting that "Dokdo is Japanese territory."
Regarding the issues of comfort women and forced labor victims, it emphasized the existing stance that the South Korean government must take responsibility and resolve them.
So far, Japan's inclusion of content in official government documents like the diplomatic white paper that infringes on South Korea's territorial sovereignty or reflects a regressive historical perspective has acted as a negative factor in Korea-Japan relations, and it appears this situation will be repeated this time as well.
