Boseong-gun Achieves Complete Sell-Out of Boseong Fresh Tea via Live Commerce... Tea Farmers Beam with Joy
Sales of 52 Million Won... Diligent Promotion for Next Year's Car Expo
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong County, the green tea capital (County Governor Kim Cheol-woo), announced on the 26th that it achieved sales of 52 million KRW as planned products sold out during a two-day live commerce event held from the 24th to the previous day.
To promote the 10th Boseong World Tea Expo next year, the county established the first live commerce platform among local governments and planned an online discount event selling Boseong new tea and tea-related products using Naver Live Shopping and other platforms.
The live commerce event was held at Daehan Tea Garden’s 2nd Tea Garden, where representative farms from Boseong and Hadong counties, leading the Korean tea industry, directly participated to explain the benefits of tea and how to enjoy tea deliciously.
In particular, the tea master’s tea-making demonstration using tea leaves picked at dawn attracted great interest and favorable reviews from live broadcast participants, drawing 4,670 visitors over two days.
The county plans to sell Boseong green tea and local agricultural and specialty products at significantly discounted prices again on the 22nd of next month through Naver Shopping Live and its own platform, Boseong Live Commerce.
County Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, “Local farms faced many difficulties as sales channels for agricultural products were blocked due to COVID-19, but it is rewarding to be able to help farms through the live commerce platform we created as the first local government. We will continue to strive to help secure sales channels for farms.”
Boseong Live Commerce is held every last Saturday of the month from 3 PM to 5 PM, where farms conduct live broadcasts to sell products, and purchases are possible until Sunday evening.
