Gwangju University Supports Rent for On-Campus Tenants Sharing COVID-19 Burden
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University will support the rent of on-campus tenant businesses again this year, following last year.
On the 26th, Gwangju University announced that it will support 30% of the rent for three months to share the pain with on-campus tenant businesses struggling due to the impact of COVID-19.
Gwangju University made this decision after collecting opinions from 14 on-campus tenant businesses recently, as non-face-to-face classes were conducted until the midterm exams of the first semester of the 2021 academic year.
In particular, the university plans to prepare further measures after observing the extension of non-face-to-face classes due to the resurgence of COVID-19 and the economic downturn.
Previously, Gwangju University sought a path of coexistence by supporting the rent of 15 stores, including the on-campus post office, through the ‘Good Rent Movement’ during both the first and second semesters of last year.
