GIST Academy Hosts Breakfast Forum on 'Convergence of Digital and Content'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) Academy announced on the 26th that it held a breakfast forum at Oryong Hall with about 50 representatives from leading companies in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, under the theme "Convergence of Digital and Content, Changes Brought by Immersive Content Technology."
The forum was conducted as a special lecture by Lee Seong-ho, CEO of District Holdings Co., Ltd., who showcased an innovative virtual space using digital media technology, attracting great interest as digital content that breaks down the boundaries between art and commercial sectors.
In his lecture, CEO Lee emphasized that design trends are solving spatial problems in response to changes in digital media platform environments such as virtual reality, 3D stereoscopic images, and holograms, and that the ‘virtual experience’ which perfectly substitutes human senses will be further advanced in the future.
He also mentioned that reality experiences through immersive media technology will be replaced by virtual experiences, and that the technological utility of reducing the social cost of experiences is expected to converge with other technologies such as brain medicine, wearable devices, robots, and artificial intelligence.
The GIST Academy breakfast forum is held every last Monday of the month, providing opportunities for consciousness innovation, technology transfer, and industry-academia cooperation through lectures by experts from various fields for GIST alumni and executives of local companies.
