Selected through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's public project, the "Urban Autonomous Driving Shuttle Parts and Module Infrastructure Project" (13.7 billion KRW until next year), which has been promoted since last year centered on Gyeongsan, Yeongcheon, and Gimcheon, plans to establish reliability evaluation equipment in the autonomous driving field, a core technology of future cars.
In addition, in Gyeongju, the central area of automobile parts production in the Gyeongbuk region, the "Advanced Technology Establishment Project for Vehicle Advanced Material Molding and Processing" (28.9 billion KRW until next year) will focus on technical guidance and reliability evaluation support.
Furthermore, as part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's regional vitality project, the "Future Vehicle Body, Chassis, and E/E System Product Commercialization Support Project" (6.8 billion KRW until next year) is being promoted, and by advancing the "Automobile Tuning Technology Support Cluster Project" (47.5 billion KRW until 2023) centered on Gimcheon, attention is also being paid to fostering new demand industries in the era of 34.3 million registered vehicles.
In addition, through discovering tasks and promoting commercialization considering the government's future car development strategy and regional industrial structure and characteristics, such as the "Future Car Digital Core Electronic System Infrastructure Development Project," the basic strength to continuously respond to the paradigm shift in the automobile industry will be cultivated.
