The fire started on the 5th floor of a 19-story building located opposite Donong Station in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province. At the time of the fire, about 50 people were working inside the building, of whom 17 were rescued by fire helicopters and other means. The rest are reported to have evacuated on their own.
