Gwangjin-gu Imposes 100,000 KRW Fines on 81 Individuals Violating Gatherings of Five or More
Request for Investigation and Ongoing Probe of Confirmed Cases Related to Private Gatherings of Five or More... 24-Hour Crackdown Implemented in Organic Cooperation with Gwangjin Police Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is mobilizing all administrative resources to respond to prevent local infections as cases of infection caused by 'gatherings of acquaintances' continue to occur.
In particular, it is focusing all efforts on cracking down on private gatherings of five or more people within households, one of the blind spots in quarantine.
In February, the district immediately requested an investigation and imposed fines on group infection cases related to private gatherings of five or more people within households.
As of April 23, the district has imposed fines of 100,000 KRW each on 81 violators of private gathering rules within households that occurred in the area.
Along with this, the district has established an organic cooperative system with the Gwangjin Police Station to conduct 24-hour thorough crackdowns.
Furthermore, to prevent recurrence of similar cases, the district is conducting a full survey of similar facilities and blind spots in each neighborhood where private gatherings take place, strengthening crackdowns on private gatherings of five or more people.
