Support for Prototype Production of Jinju City Small and Medium Enterprise Products, Packaging Design, and Patent Technology
Support up to 12 million KRW for products, 6 million KRW for packaging, and 6.5 million KRW for patented technology
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 23rd that it is recruiting companies to participate in a project supporting product and packaging design development and prototype production of patented technologies for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, in collaboration with the Jinju Bio Industry Promotion Agency.
This project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of local companies by supporting product and packaging design development and new product creation, protection, and utilization for SMEs that face difficulties in developing their own brands and designs due to a lack of specialized personnel and funds.
The city is investing 85 million KRW in the product and packaging design development project, providing support of up to 12 million KRW per company for product design development and up to 6 million KRW for packaging design development, with a 20% company co-payment required.
Additionally, for excellent patented technologies owned by companies that have not yet been commercialized, the city is investing 21 million KRW in a patented technology prototype production project, supporting up to 6.5 million KRW per company for prototype development.
Every year, the city leads continuous sales growth through the enhancement of local companies' product images and new product creation by supporting more than 10 cases of product and packaging design development and 2 to 3 cases of patented technology prototype production.
For example, last year, The Nanum Trading developed the packaging design for ‘Serek,’ a composite beverage product made from Vietnam’s edible bird’s nest and Korean red ginseng extract, through intensive research in collaboration with the Promotion Agency, exporting 100,000 USD worth to Vietnam.
In the first half of this year, they signed a contract worth 104,000 USD and are expanding export channels to Southeast Asia, China, and India markets.
Geumpo Agricultural Cooperative Corporation developed small and set packaging designs for eggs due to the increase in single-person households, achieving an additional 20 million KRW in sales in the second half of last year through online sales on platforms such as Naver, Coupang, and Shinsegae TV Shopping, with sales steadily increasing.
Naruato Co., Ltd. developed a patented machine prototype for character cotton candy production and opened a store in Everland in April, generating monthly sales of 50 million KRW.
