[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has decided to pilot the new social distancing reform plan Phase 1 in a total of 12 counties in Gyeongbuk: Gunwi, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, Yeongdeok, Cheongdo, Goryeong, Seongju, Yecheon, Bonghwa, Uljin, and Ulleung from the 26th of this month to the 2nd of next month.

In Phase 1 of the social distancing reform plan, there are no restrictions on private gatherings such as the current nationwide ban on private gatherings of five or more people. However, the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and Gyeongbuk Province explained that due to concerns about excessive easing of quarantine measures, Phase 2 social distancing, which allows private gatherings of up to eight people, may be applied.
