[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young]Hyundai Card and Korean Air are launching a special flight to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the 'Korean Air Card'.
Hyundai Card and Korean Air announced on the 23rd that they will operate a special flight (A380) for a non-landing sightseeing flight on the 29th of next month exclusively for Korean Air Card customers. The Korean Air Card is the first airline-specific private label credit card (PLCC) in Korea, created by Hyundai Card and Korean Air in April last year.
The special flight will use the A380 aircraft, a large long-haul plane with 407 seats, departing from Incheon International Airport at 12:30 PM on the 29th of next month, flying over Gangneung-Busan-Korean Strait-Jeju, and landing back at Incheon International Airport at 3 PM.
This non-landing sightseeing flight is available only to Korean Air Card customers and will operate with a total of 270 seats, including 12 first-class seats, 94 prestige class seats, and 164 economy seats. The mileage redemption is also drastically reduced, allowing seat reservations with 50,000 miles (first class), 30,000 miles (prestige class), and 10,000 miles (economy class) respectively.
All passengers will receive commemorative gifts including the 'HL7530 Name Tag' designed in collaboration between Hyundai Card and Korean Air, a Korean Air amenity kit, KF94 masks, hand sanitizer, and hand sanitizing tissues as part of a safety kit. Additionally, on the day of boarding, a raffle will offer seat upgrades, 100% mileage payback, luxury hotel accommodation vouchers, Rimowa suitcases, and more. Discounts are also provided for pre-purchasing in-flight duty-free items.
For safe travel, all seats will strictly comply with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s social distancing and quarantine guidelines. Reservations for boarding can be made from 3 PM on the 7th of next month via Hyundai Card or Korean Air websites by accessing Hanjin Travel’s special reservation site.
