Gwangyang-si, Creation of a Living Environment Forest Rest Area at Madong Sports Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City in Jeonnam announced on the 22nd that the Living Environment Forest Rest Area project, aimed at providing convenient spaces for physical activities at Madong Sports Park, is scheduled for completion next month.
The city will plant 905 trees, including Zelkova, Crape Myrtle, and Chinese Tallow, utilizing the open space at Madong Sports Park.
They conducted soil composition surveys to analyze the causes and environment of poor growth of existing trees, and to establish a suitable growth base for the trees, soil improvement and irrigation facility installation will be promoted.
Additionally, seating walls will be installed under the tree shade to provide park visitors with a green, healing space.
The city expects the Living Environment Forest Rest Area to become a green family rest area where visitors can enjoy various park facilities such as small streams, ground fountains, sports facilities, and the forest together.
Gwangyang City plans to expand green spaces around residential areas to meet the increased demand for urban healing life and improve quality of life in the post-COVID-19 era.
