[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics announced on the 22nd that, in celebration of 'Earth Day,' domestic employees will participate in an environmental protection campaign by not using printers for the day.
Domestic employees of LG Electronics plan to save paper, electricity, and toner on this day, designated by the company as 'No Printing Day,' thereby contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. Yoon Dae-sik, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics' External Cooperation Division, explained, "As we accelerate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management for a sustainable future, we organized this event so that customers and employees can contribute to environmental protection through small daily efforts."
Additionally, LG Electronics' U.S. subsidiary reaffirmed its commitment to the 'Carbon Neutral 2030' goal in commemoration of Earth Day. The Carbon Neutral 2030 initiative, declared by LG Electronics in 2019, aims to reduce carbon emissions from global business sites by 50% compared to 2017 levels by 2030, while achieving carbon neutrality through carbon credits acquired via external carbon reduction activities.
LG Electronics explained that to achieve the carbon neutrality goal, it plans to produce energy-efficient products and promote a circular economy by producing and using renewable energy.
