Recruitment of Participants for Geumcheon-gu Youth CEO Flea Market
Recruitment of Participants for Youth Startup CEO Program Until the 30th... Developing and Selling Startup Items Based on Interest in Neighbors and Local Community... Providing Experience of Growing Together with Society through Integrated Education in Economy, Character, and Career
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting participants for the 'Geumcheon Youth CEO Project,' part of the Geumcheon-gu Child-Friendly City initiative, until the 30th.
The 'Geumcheon Youth CEO Project' is a program that the district has been running for three years since 2019 in collaboration with the Geumcheon Youth Center (Director Hyeong Woo Yoo) to develop youth career competencies and foster proper economic awareness.
Especially this year, under the theme of 'Geumcheon Silhak Scholars Jeong (Integrity) · Yak (Promise) · Yong (Courage),' participating youths will research, produce, and sell items needed by neighbors and society, providing opportunities to take an interest in the local community and actively participate in social activities.
To alleviate the difficulties that may feel vague about entrepreneurship and to help participants realize their potential as CEOs, the program includes ▲orientation (activity introduction) ▲comprehensive entrepreneurship education (economics, character education, and item discussion) ▲group capacity building (item production practice) ▲entrepreneurship simulation (free market sales).
All proceeds from the free market sales will be donated to socially vulnerable youths in Geumcheon-gu.
Eligibility includes youths aged 12 to 18 who reside in Geumcheon-gu or attend schools located in Geumcheon-gu. Applications can be made individually or in groups of 3 to 6 people.
Activities will be conducted in small groups and online depending on the COVID-19 situation.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "The Youth CEO Project will enhance youths' participation rights through voluntary involvement, provide experiences in entrepreneurship and community activities, and help foster a sense of community." He added, "We hope many youths dreaming of the future will show interest and participate."
