View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] On the 20th, Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do, held the ‘2022 National Treasury Request Progress Report Meeting’ chaired by Mayor Kim Jong-sik to review the progress of securing national treasury funds for the next year, the city announced on the 21st.
The city held a focused review of key initiatives by department regarding national treasury requests with the relevant directors and section chiefs in attendance, discussing response strategies including project feasibility and viability to ensure inclusion by government ministries.
In particular, the city plans to make an all-out effort to secure more than 1.1 trillion KRW in national treasury funds for 124 projects, including ongoing projects, large-scale national projects, and public contest projects.
Major projects include ▲ Relocation of Mokpo Station railway facilities ▲ Creation of a cultural city ▲ Development of offshore wind power support wharf and hinterland complex ▲ Construction of access roads to Bukhang hinterland complex ▲ Establishment of the National Kim Industry Research Center ▲ Expansion of the World Mother and Child Museum ▲ Creation of Gatbawi Provincial Garden ▲ Implementation of smart water supply network management ▲ Improvement of hazardous road structures, among others.
The city plans to concretize the 2022 national budget projects through consultations with Jeollanam-do and central government ministries, expert advice, and to complete preliminary administrative procedures before inclusion by ministries to secure a favorable position for government budget allocation.
