According to the county on the 21st, Kang Sang-gu, Deputy Governor of Haenam-gun, visited the Jeonnam Headquarters of the Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering on the 19th to explore cooperation plans for attracting aquaculture equipment companies to the region and fostering related industries. On the 20th, he visited Jeonnam Technopark to discuss development plans for major agricultural, fisheries, and livestock equipment industries.
Through a meeting with Yoo Dong-guk, Director of Jeonnam Technopark, Deputy Governor Kang explained the necessity of key equipment industries related to the increasingly advanced agriculture, fisheries, and livestock sectors, and agreed to actively cooperate with Jeonnam Technopark on information sharing and attracting related companies to the region.
In particular, recognizing the need to introduce new smart technologies in the agriculture and livestock sectors to respond to the rapidly changing agricultural environment due to scientific and technological advancements, they plan to closely cooperate in establishing policy directions such as building smart farms tailored to regional characteristics.
The county has been promoting a smart factory construction project since 2017, and this year, for the first time, it is implementing a leading enterprise fostering project for the root industry that supports advanced projects for local manufacturing companies, as well as customized specialized support projects for manufacturers in agricultural and industrial complexes.
In this regard, on the 9th, a business agreement was signed with Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services and Farm8 to promote smart farm R&D and the development of healing agriculture, and a forum was held with smart agriculture experts to discuss ways to revitalize smart agriculture in Haenam-gun.
Additionally, the county is setting new directions for Haenam-gun’s future industries through accurate analysis of industrial and agricultural complexes and manufacturing companies, and is also proposing development directions that can enhance synergy effects by linking with neighboring cities and counties in the future.

Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, “We will closely cooperate with Jeonnam Technopark to discover future industries suitable for Haenam-gun,” and added, “We will prepare for the 4th Industrial Revolution by establishing testbeds applying artificial intelligence technology in agricultural and livestock fields.”
