Haman-gun Chilbuk-myeon Office - Chilwon-eup Office Awarded Honorary Road Name 'Sinjaejusebung-ro'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 19th, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province, designated a 6km section from 1289-4 Geomdan-ri, Chilbuk-myeon (Chilbuk-myeon Office) to 666-1 Guseong-ri, Chilwon-eup (Chilwon-eup Office) as the honorary road name 'Sin Jae Ju Sebung-ro.'
The honorary road name will be used for five years, and this section passes by Musan Temple in Chilseo-myeon, where the portrait and relics of Teacher Ju Sebung are enshrined.
This road naming was carried out to honor the upright scholarly spirit and achievements of Teacher Ju Sebung, a native of Haman-gun, and to boost the pride of the county residents, with proposals and support from multiple council members including Bae Jaeseong of the Haman County Council.
Teacher Sin Jae Ju Sebung, a native of Haman-gun, is a historically respected figure.
In addition, in 1541 (the 36th year of King Jungjong's reign), he was appointed as the magistrate of Punggi County and established Baegundong Seowon (Sosu Seowon), the first Confucian academy in Korea, contributing to the promotion of scholarship and the reform of customs.
