Hanatech Acquires Two Patents for UTG Processing Technology
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hana Technology, a specialized manufacturer of secondary battery equipment, announced on the 21st through a public disclosure that it has acquired two patents related to display glass (UTG) processing technology.
The patents pertain to a method and apparatus for processing the edges of glass used in UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) and a method and apparatus for processing glass edges using a high-frequency induction heater. These are domestic patents.
The glass substrate edge processing method is characterized by contacting the edges of a cooled glass substrate with a member heated by high-frequency induction to cut the edges of the glass substrate. It provides a new method to remove glass edges in strip form without dust.
Unlike existing methods, there is no need to heat the glass to a high temperature. A large furnace is not required. Since post-processing steps such as preheating or annealing are unnecessary, the manufacturing process becomes very simple.
