[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Police Agency announced on the 21st that on the 20th, they conducted community policing activities to prevent sex crimes in cooperation with related organizations, focusing on Tapdong and Mugeunseongbangsajgil.
The community policing activities to prevent sex crimes are part of the new semester sex crime prevention campaign promoted by Jeju Police Agency, mainly involving the detection of illegal cameras in public restrooms near schools and inspection of emergency bells on women’s safe return paths.
Additionally, each police station is actively engaged in various activities such as ▲special prevention education on sex crimes targeting school areas ▲production of sex crime prevention videos and posting them on school websites ▲verification of whether registered sex offenders reside at their registered addresses.
Jeju Police Agency, the 1366 Jeju Center, the Radio Management Office, and about 10 other personnel conducted illegal camera detection and emergency bell inspections inside public restrooms in Tapdong for a “Jeju where women are happy.” They also requested local governments to improve holes where illegal cameras could be installed, blocking the possibility of illegal filming.
They also patrolled Mugeunseongbangsajgil, which has women’s safe return paths, checking that emergency bells installed in various locations were functioning properly and confirmed no abnormalities.
