Gyeongnam Province Selects 3 Commercial Districts for Small Business Smart Pilot Stores
Jinju Rodeo Street, Yangsan Youth Street, Samcheonpo Central Market
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 21st that it has finally selected three commercial districts for this year's 'Small Business Smart Pilot Shopping District Support Project': Jinju Rodeo Street, Yangsan Youth Street, and Samcheonpo Central Market.
Gyeongnam Province will invest a total of 380 million KRW in the three selected commercial districts to produce and install about 10 to 15 'electronic billboards (digital signage)' per district, which provide comprehensive information such as store locations, products handled, local attractions, and disaster alerts.
The 'electronic billboards' installed in the commercial districts will provide real-time public information directly related to small business operations, including store information, disaster and emergency alerts, and COVID-19 related information.
The province expects that the installation of the 'electronic billboards' will revitalize local commercial districts and increase sales.
Since this is still a pilot project, the province plans to internally analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the project implementation and gather feedback for future expansion.

Kim Hyunmi, head of the Small Business Policy Division of the province, said, "Since the three selected commercial districts represent Gyeongnam Province as 'streets and markets,' we hope that the introduction of electronic billboards tailored to each type's characteristics will become a turning point for the digitalization of local commercial districts in the post-COVID-19 era."
