‘Retail Veteran’ Lee Je-hoon, CEO of Carver Korea, has been appointed as the new CEO of Homeplus.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Homeplus announced on the 21st that Je Jae-hoon, a 'retail veteran' and CEO of Carver Korea, has been appointed as the new CEO. The inauguration of the new CEO is expected next month.
The new CEO graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and earned an MBA from the Wharton School in the United States. He is an expert who has worked in the retail and consumer goods sectors for over 30 years. He has more than 10 years of experience as a CEO in the retail and consumer goods sectors.
After his studies, the new CEO worked at the U.S. headquarters of Pepsi and pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough. Since 2000, he served as CFO, CDO, and COO at Pizza Hut Korea. From 2006 until recently, for over 10 years, he has been recognized in the industry as a CEO in retail, distribution, and consumer goods sectors. He served as CEO of convenience store chain By The Way and KFC Korea, and most recently was the CEO of Carver Korea, known for the cosmetics brand AHC.
Homeplus stated, "We expect the new CEO to accelerate Homeplus's growth trajectory as a leading O2O distribution company based on his outstanding experience, expertise, and leadership in the retail and consumer goods sectors."

Especially focusing on fresh food and groceries, Homeplus recorded nearly 1 trillion KRW in online sales last year. Homeplus forecasts online sales of 1.3 trillion KRW this year and aims to increase it to 1.8 trillion KRW in 2022 and 2.4 trillion KRW in 2023.
