[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Convenience store Seven Eleven announced on the 21st that it will carry out an eco-friendly campaign themed on resource circulation in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel on April 22, Earth Day.
On the morning of the 21st, Seven Eleven and the Embassy of Israel held an event called 'Proper Disposal of Transparent PET Bottles' with citizens at the Seven Eleven Lotte World Mall Aquarium Store in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This event is an extension of the 'Back in My Day (also known as Latte-neun Mariya)' campaign that Seven Eleven has been conducting since January to raise awareness about the importance of resource circulation activities. Seven Eleven and the Embassy of Israel said they prepared the event to inform and encourage participation in the correct disposal of PET bottles in daily life.
When citizens insert transparent PET bottles with labels removed into the recycling resource collection robot installed in front of the 'Lotte World Mall Aquarium Store,' they can participate in a roulette event and receive prizes such as eco bags and tumblers prepared by the Embassy of Israel, which help reduce disposable items. Currently, Seven Eleven operates a total of six recycling resource collection robots at major stores in the metropolitan area.
In addition, symbolizing the normalization of environmental love activities, 1,000 eco-friendly label-free water bottles 'Isis Eco 500㎖' will also be distributed to citizens.
Rasha Atamni, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Korea and co-planner of this event, said, "On Earth Day, Israeli embassies in various countries are conducting eco-friendly campaigns. We are pleased to be able to work with Seven Eleven in Korea," adding, "We will continue to work with Korean companies and institutions to solve environmental issues."
Jang Areum, Head of Social Contribution at Seven Eleven, said, "We will utilize Seven Eleven’s nationwide platform to carry out various environmental love activities that can be practiced in daily life."
