Jangseong-gun Promotes 'Renewable Energy Supply Housing Support Project'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 20th that it will promote the ‘Renewable Energy Supply Housing Support Project’ to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and electricity consumption.
This project supports part of the installation cost when installing renewable energy facilities such as solar power and solar heat in houses.
The county supports 3.22 million KRW, which is 70% of the total installation cost, when installing a 3kW solar power facility in a general house. It can produce about 320 kW of electricity per month, resulting in an average monthly electricity bill reduction of about 40,000 KRW depending on electricity usage.
For solar thermal facilities, 10.76 million KRW is supported for a 20㎡ standard, 14.03 million KRW for geothermal facilities based on 17.5kW, and 17.64 million KRW for fuel cells based on 1kW.
The county, which has been promoting the renewable energy supply housing support project since 2010, has supported a total of 429 households so far, and about 60 households are expected to benefit this year as well.
Applications can be submitted on the Korea Energy Agency Green Home website until the 14th of next month.
Applicants must apply for subsidy support to the county’s Economic and Transportation Department after approval by the agency, and support is provided on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.
The subsidy amount may vary depending on the type of facility and area.
