T'way Air Signs Final Contract for Introduction of Medium and Large Aircraft
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] T'way Air announced on the 20th that it has completed a lease contract for the introduction of the medium-to-large aircraft A330-300.
According to the contract to introduce a total of three aircraft from February to May 2022, T'way Air plans to accelerate preparations for operating the new model.
To this end, full-scale preparations will begin for building a safe operation system, including type training for flight crew, maintenance systems, and cabin crew training. The confirmed Airbus A330-300 aircraft is a model operated by about 770 aircraft across 65 airlines worldwide, with a maximum range of up to 11,750 km.
Utilizing the larger size of the medium-to-large aircraft, the airline plans to expand customer choices with two types of seats: business class and economy class, and newly provide various in-flight amenities.
After the introduction of the aircraft, the plan is to first operate short- and medium-haul routes, then gradually expand to medium- and long-haul routes such as Sydney, Australia; Croatia; Honolulu; and Singapore, depending on the COVID-19 situation in overseas countries.
In particular, T'way Air, which has completed the construction of a state-of-the-art training center at Gimpo Airport cargo terminal and continues to invest and strive to strengthen safety capabilities, plans to continuously expand additional training facilities suitable for the newly introduced aircraft.
