Gamevil Secures 13% Stake in Coinone
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Domestic cryptocurrency exchange Coinone has signed a strategic investment agreement with Gamevil and will jointly proceed with technology development.
According to the electronic disclosure system announcement on the 19th, Gamevil acquired 87,474 existing shares of Coinone, securing a 13% stake. The investment amount is approximately 31.2 billion KRW.
Through this investment, Coinone plans to develop core exchange technologies with Gamevil, such as large-scale traffic processing technology and hacking response security technology. Furthermore, they aim to establish future growth engines for the cryptocurrency ecosystem in both domestic and global markets. Coinone stated, "We regard this as a partnership to create various business opportunities beyond a simple investment."
Gamevil plans to increase interest in blockchain technology and cryptocurrency platforms at the enterprise level, including Com2uS and its affiliates.
