Left a trace... Luxury wallet thief caught red-handed trying to sell secondhand to owner
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] A thief who stole an expensive luxury wallet and posted it on the secondhand trading site Danggeun Market was caught by the police. A female victim, who was trying to find her lost wallet, happened to access Danggeun Market and confirmed that her wallet was being sold there, then reported it to the police.
According to an MBN report on the 16th, the police announced that they have booked Mr. A on charges of theft.
On the 10th, the victim, Ms. B, who works at a department store, accidentally left her wallet on a chair in the break room and left the area. Three hours later, when she returned to the break room, she realized her wallet was missing.
The next day, with a hopeful heart, Ms. B accessed Danggeun Market and found an item exactly matching the wallet she had lost.
After confirming unique marks only she could recognize and the serial number on the luxury wallet, Ms. B expressed her intention to purchase to Mr. A, then arranged a meeting place and time and reported it to the police.
According to the police, Mr. A initially denied stealing the wallet, claiming he was just selling a friend's item on their behalf, but eventually admitted to the crime after continued questioning.
