View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Daesun Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., which has found a new owner, delivered the first of two 50,000-ton chemical product carriers ordered by Singapore's Wilmar International Limited, the vessel named "DRACO," on the 13th.
Daesun Shipbuilding graduated from creditor management on the 16th and was incorporated into the Dongil Steel group of affiliates.
Wilmar International Limited, listed among the largest market capitalization companies on the Singapore Exchange, is the world's number one producer of palm oil and sugar. This vessel is scheduled to transport Wilmar's products on global routes including Southeast Asia and Europe.
Since the ship primarily carries grain oils such as palm oil, it met the high hygiene and safety standards required by the shipowner.
Despite the spread of COVID-19, DRACO was successfully delivered on schedule without any COVID-19 cases among personnel and workers. The subsequent vessel is also expected to be delivered by June this year without delay.
Daesun Shipbuilding will deliver a total of 16 vessels of 50,000-ton chemical product carriers, including this main vessel.
Daesun Shipbuilding has successfully re-entered the MR Tanker market and established a foothold for entering the Southeast Asian shipbuilding market, including the grain oil carrier market.
