[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Kim Boo-kyum, the nominee for Prime Minister, stated on the 16th that his priority task is "job creation and recovery of the people's economy."
On the day, Kim arrived at the hearing preparation office set up at the Financial Supervisory Service Training Institute in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to begin full-scale preparations for the confirmation hearing. He said, "The most important task during the remaining one year of the current administration is jobs and the people's economy."
He continued, "We will establish principles and reform issues such as real estate problems and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) speculation scandal," emphasizing, "We will prepare practical measures so that the 2030 generation can nurture their dreams for the future."
Kim also mentioned cooperation with the opposition party. He said, "For the future of the Korean community, I will not hesitate to cooperate with the opposition party," adding, "I will rely on the people and seek wisdom."
Regarding the recent crushing defeat in the by-elections, he stated, "I will make sure to respond clearly to the people's criticism."
