This discussion was held following Councilor Shin Min-ho's comprehensive analysis of youth issues and proposal of a youth policy platform to solve youth problems during last year's provincial administration questioning. The discussion was organized to ensure the efficient operation of the platform and to discover stable jobs preferred by youth.
The presentation began with Shim Mi-kyung, Senior Research Fellow at the Gwangju Jeonnam Research Institute, under the theme "Establishing Efficient Operation Plans for the Youth Policy Platform (Council)."
Designated discussants included seven panelists such as Yoon Yeon-hwa, Population and Youth Policy Officer; Shin Na-ra, Vice President of Youth Voices; and Kim Doo-cheol, Senior Researcher at the Employment Innovation Promotion Group, who engaged in a heated debate representing voices from the field as experts in their respective areas.
The main topics covered were ▲Youth Policy Platform operation plans ▲Management system for regional talent recruitment targets ▲Creation of regionally tailored jobs ▲Customized workforce training for companies.
Chairman Shin Min-ho pointed out, "It is an urgent issue to deeply reflect on and prepare realistic alternatives for the problem of the decreasing youth population as young people in our region leave for metropolitan areas such as the capital region due to employment and academic reasons."
He continued, "To realize a happy Jeonnam where youth work and stay, comprehensive and multifaceted policy alternatives for fundamental solutions to youth problems and youth development must be devised."
