Gurye-gun Supports LPG Gas Purchase Costs for Facility House Heaters
Measures to Prevent Recurrence of Oil Spill Damage During Heavy Rainfall Periods
48 Million KRW Project Budget Allocated from This Year, Gas Purchase Subsidies to Be Provided Starting Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced on the 16th that it will promote a project to support the purchase cost of LPG gas for farms using gas heaters in facility greenhouses starting this year.
Last August, due to heavy rain and the flooding of the Seomjin River, oil stored as heating fuel for facility vegetables was leaked, contaminating the soil, rivers, and other agricultural environments. This project is being promoted as a measure to prevent recurrence in the future.
This project is a new policy initiative for this year, with a budget of 48 million KRW. Applications will be accepted from farms using gas heaters, and gas purchase subsidies will be provided starting next month.
Kim Soon-ho, Governor of Gurye-gun, said, "By promoting the gas purchase cost support project for facility greenhouse heaters, we expect to provide consumers with cleaner and safer food through agricultural environment preservation and stable food supply."
