Naver Publishes Revised Edition of '2020 ESG Report'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 16th that it has published a revised edition of its 2020 ESG report, which contains efforts and directions for its ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) management.
The revised report additionally introduces various programs that Naver is working on in the areas of environment, society, and governance.
First, in the governance area, the report includes information about the newly established ESG committee and dedicated working organization, the issuance of the first foreign currency ESG bond by a domestic internet and tech company, the differences between the Corporate Governance Charter and the Corporate Governance Best Practices, and the introduction of electronic voting at the 2020 regular shareholders' meeting.
In the social area, internal policies such as the Corporate Ethics Code, AI Ethics Guidelines, personal data self-control rights, and the establishment of a compliance organization are covered, along with social contributions for COVID-19 prevention such as the domestic ‘QR Check-in’ and ‘Clova Care Call’.
In the environmental area, a detailed roadmap for the 2040 Carbon Negative policy centered on the new headquarters and data centers has been added.
Naver also announced that it has revamped its corporate website (www.navercorp.com) so that anyone can easily access this information. On the revamped corporate site, these details can be viewed in both Korean and English. The English site will open from the 20th.
