Five 'Meister Universities' Selected for Training Highly Skilled Technical Professionals

Operating advanced job-focused curricula from short-term job training to master's degrees
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education has selected five colleges for the pilot operation project of 'Meister University,' a specialized college that trains highly skilled professional technical talents.
On the 15th, the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea selected five colleges for the Meister University pilot operation project: Daelim University, Dongyang Mirae University (partner university Yeonseong University), Dong-Eui Science University (partner university Dongju University), Youngjin College, and Korea Video University (partner university Ajou Automobile University).
The selected colleges will operate advanced job-centered curricula ranging from short-term job courses to professional technical master's programs for two years. The Ministry of Education plans to support each university with 2 billion KRW and derive excellent models for Meister University.
Daelim University will operate Meister University courses in knowledge-based new industries such as future-oriented automobiles, and Dongyang Mirae University will operate Meister University courses in cloud computing, interior architecture curation, and integrated architectural information and communication technology (ICT) fields, respectively.
Dong-Eui Science University will participate in the Meister University course in sports rehabilitation physical therapy, Youngjin College in ultra-precision mold technology, and Korea Video University in immersive mobility content.
The selection results will be finalized at the end of this month after an objection procedure. The selected universities will start the pilot operation after signing an agreement with the National Research Foundation of Korea.
