On the 15th, Governor Won appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs' and emphasized, "There will be an immediate direct blow to the fishing industry," adding, "This is not only a matter concerning the health rights of the entire nation but also a major threat to future generations through marine pollution."
Governor Won also held a press conference at the National Assembly on the 13th, the day the Japanese government's decision was announced. He mentioned cooperation with the government, which proposed filing a lawsuit including provisional measures at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. He stated, "Only the central government can file a lawsuit with the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea," and insisted, "The central and local governments must actively step forward, unite, and form a joint response task force."
Governor Won also expressed his intention to participate in the party primary for the presidential election scheduled for March next year. He said, "People like me must fiercely create a splendid primary stage and gather national strength there to bring hope for regime change," adding, "I also have a sense of responsibility."
