Democratic Party Visiting Busan: "We Will Join Forces to Complete Gadeok New Airport by 2029"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] The leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea pledged on the 14th, during the first schedule of their 'Listening to the Public Tour,' to focus on the construction of Gadeok New Airport and the establishment of the Southeast Mega City by visiting Busan.
Do Jong-hwan, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman, stated at the Emergency Committee meeting held at the Democratic Party Busan Branch in Yeonje-gu, Busan, that "the promises made to the citizens of Busan during the election process will be pursued without wavering."
Chairman Do said, "We will unite our efforts to complete Gadeok New Airport by 2029, build the Southeast Mega City, and attract the 2030 Busan World Expo," adding, "We will listen and communicate with a humble attitude until your hearts are eased."
He emphasized, "We will accelerate the delayed reform legislation," and stressed, "We will ensure the passage of bills including the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and real estate reform laws during the April extraordinary session of the National Assembly to eradicate real estate corruption."
He continued, "Although we lost, the citizens of Busan must win," and appealed, "We will start again from Busan. We will regain the trust of the people as a responsible ruling party."

Regarding the Japanese government's discharge of contaminated water from Fukushima, he condemned, "We denounce the Japanese government for making such a decision without transparent information disclosure and verification," and stated, "We cannot tolerate any actions that harm public health.
