Samsung Electronics to Unveil New 'Galaxy Book' on 28th... First Ever Laptop Unpacked
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] Samsung Electronics will hold a laptop PC unpacking (launch) event for the first time ever on the 28th. It is expected to showcase new products such as the Galaxy Book, targeting the surge in laptop PC demand following the spread of COVID-19.
On the 14th, Samsung Electronics sent invitations to global media and partners announcing that the 'Galaxy Unpacked: The most powerful Galaxy is coming' event will be held online on the 28th at 11 PM (11 AM Eastern Time, USA).
Samsung Electronics did not disclose which products will be unveiled at this event. However, the industry expects new Samsung laptop products such as the Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360 to be revealed. Samsung stated, "We will unveil the most powerful Galaxy device ever that expands the Galaxy ecosystem and delivers the next-generation mobile experience." Together with the invitation, a trailer was released showing an image symbolizing the opening of a laptop.
The Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 have a form factor similar to existing laptops. They are expected to be released in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, respectively.
In particular, the Pro 360 is expected to feature a 360-degree foldable touch panel and an S Pen.

This is the first time Samsung Electronics is holding an unpacking event for a laptop PC rather than a smartphone. It is seen as a decision to capture the globally increased laptop demand following the spread of COVID-19. Samsung Electronics' market share in the global PC market is outside the ranking.
