USFK Also Temporarily Halts Janssen Vaccine
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] The US Forces Korea has decided to temporarily suspend the use of the US Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, which has raised concerns about the occurrence of rare thrombosis.
The US Forces Korea Command stated on its Facebook account on the 14th, "The safety and protection of US Forces Korea personnel is a priority," adding, "This decision was made as a precaution based on the joint statement from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as guidelines from the US Department of Defense."
The US Forces Korea further added, "At present, it is unknown how long the suspension will last, but it will be decided based on additional research results regarding the Johnson & Johnson vaccine." They especially emphasized that soldiers who have already been vaccinated should "immediately seek treatment if they experience abnormal symptoms such as headaches, abdominal pain, or leg pain."
