This webinar attracted over 1,200 pre-registered attendees as global experts from both Cafe24 and Shopee presented their strategies. Participants, ranging from online shopping mall operators to corporate executives, paid close attention to vivid on-site strategies for Southeast Asia.
Shopee is one of the largest open markets in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, recording a transaction volume of $35.4 billion (approximately 40 trillion KRW) and 2.8 billion orders last year alone. Yoonah Kwon, Head of Shopee Korea, stated, "Looking at data from the past few years, the influence of K-brands in Southeast Asia remains significant, and the market size is expected to grow even larger this year. Shopee Korea operates a support organization tailored to each growth stage of Korean companies to help them establish a foothold in Southeast Asia."
The order volume of Korean fashion products on Shopee increased 2.2 times compared to the previous year. It is explained that Korean products are gaining popularity in the Southeast Asian market, where the mobile shopping scale is expected to reach $172 billion (approximately 192 trillion KRW) by 2025.
Jongseok Lee, Manager in charge of business development at Shopee Korea, presented various strategies for Korean businesses to establish themselves and sustain growth in Southeast Asia. He said, "After registering just 10 products on Shopee, sellers receive settlement support tailored to target countries such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Taiwan. Support for Korean sellers continues in business areas such as sales increase, logistics, and marketing."
Junhwan Song, Manager in charge of overseas markets at Cafe24, introduced the corporate support program prepared with Shopee. The Shopee Starter Package significantly reduces the time and effort required to enter Shopee. Even those without experience in entering and selling in overseas markets can create country-specific accounts, link orders, register products, and perform translations with just a few clicks.
