[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] SiktagiinneunSalm announced on the 13th that it will carry out the 'Farmer Show 2021' project to improve the image of workers in agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industries.
This project is SiktagiinneunSalm's first project of 2021, planned to correct the mistaken perception that workers sweating in production sites are outdated. It will carry out a 'Makeover' program that reinterprets the stories of production site artisans with a modern sensibility and a special exhibition showcasing specialty foods they directly produce.
The makeover program expresses the long experience of producers through modern fashion. It is a collaboration with casual brand 'Covernat', work shoe brand 'Red Wing', and fashion makeover specialist 'The New Gray' to visualize the artisans' stories through fashion. Ten participants include producer Jeong Jin-hoo, who produces free-range fertilized eggs at Korea's first animal welfare farm, and Kim Jeong-bae, a master of salted seafood designated by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
A special exhibition where you can meet the products of project participants at reasonable prices will be held from April 13 to May 31. Various seasonal agricultural products are prepared, such as pesticide-free 'Eco-friendly Hanjae Minari (200g·4,900 KRW~)', 'Daejeo Jjapjari Tomato (2.5kg·22,900 KRW~)' available only in one season, and 'Seongju Honey Chamoe Melon (3kg·33,900 KRW~)'.
Livestock and seafood products are also introduced, including 'Cheongsolwon Animal Welfare Free-range Fertilized Eggs (20 pieces·12,000 KRW~)', Korean native black pig 'Deokyu Farm Native Black Pork (500g·8,900 KRW~)', and 'Uljin Hupori Wild Red Crab (3 pieces·42,000 KRW~)'. Additionally, products like wild grape wine, low-salt aged salted seafood sets, Gosirang fermented sauces, and master’s drip bag coffee sets are offered at up to 20% discounted prices.
Various events such as additional mileage points and gift giveaways are also prepared. To support the producers, product funding within the special exhibition is open, and participants will receive reusable eco-bags upon reaching the funding goal. Entering a secret code displayed on The New Gray’s SNS channel, which is collaborating on this project, also allows for additional mileage accumulation.
